This qualification reflects the role of individuals who work as bookkeepers, accounts officers, or payroll officers, applying knowledge, practical skills, and experience in accounting and bookkeeping across various enterprise and industry contexts.
Individuals at this level use communication skills to support individuals and teams and may plan, design, apply and evaluate solutions to unpredictable problems, and identify, analyze and synthesize information from a variety of sources.
There are no training package entry requirements.
St Mar’n College has the following entry requirements for international students applying for this Certificate IV / AQF Level 4 course:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have completed at least the equivalent of Year 12 education.
Must participate in a course entry interview to determine suitability for the course and student needs.
Must participate in an LLND (Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital skills) assessment, if applicable, to demonstrate readiness and learning capacity for the course.
Must have an overall IELTS score of 5.5 or higher with no individual band score lower than 5.0 (test results must be no more than two (2) years old).
English language competence can also be demonstrated through documented evidence of any of the following:
Education in an English-speaking country for at least five (5) years; or
Completion of at least six (6) months of an AQF Level 3 or higher course at an Australian RTO within the last two (2) years; or
Successful completion of an ELICOS course at Upper Intermediate level or above; or
Successful completion of an English Placement Test at St Mar’n College.
Notes:
LLND requirements may be exempted in specific cases. This will be reviewed during the application assessment process and applicants will be informed if applicable.
Other English language tests (e.g., PTE, TOEFL) are accepted. Students must provide results for confirmation that they are equivalent to a minimum IELTS score of 5.5 or higher.
The FNS40222 Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping qualification is awarded upon successful completion of thirteen (13) units of competency, including ten (10) core units and three (3) elective units.
